Top Companies That Use the WorkKeys Test in the Recruitment Process

If there’s one thing that can make a job hunter’s stomach drop, it would be them being told that although they are qualified for the position they are applying for but they cannot be given said position because they don’t have an ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) or because they have to pass the ACT WorkKeys Test first.

That’s right, on top of making sure that you meet the minimum educational requirements, work experience if applicable, and other trade-related certifications, you’ll also have to worry about getting an ACT WorkKeys exam certificate if you really want to join the company.

This isn’t surprising due to the fact that the ACT WorkKeys assessments certificate, even at the bronze level, gives assurance to employers that the candidate can perform well and has the skills needed to succeed in the position.

Due to how many competencies are assessed by the test itself, the ACT WorkKeys NCRC is recognized throughout various states all over the U.S.

This means that if you manage to pass the test and get your certification, this will be valid and recognized by companies and organizations no matter what state you live in or go to as long as they have it as a requirement or is part of the ACT Work Ready Communities.

That being said let’s take a good look at a number of top companies that utilize the ACT WorkKeys assessment as part of their recruitment process.

These are just a few of the hundreds, if not thousands of companies that require their candidates to have an ACT WorkKeys test certificate.

So I just need to pass the ACT WorkKeys test and I’m all set?

It should be noted, however, that depending on the company, just getting a particular ACT NCRC won’t do, you’ll either have to get, from lowest to highest, a bronze silver, bronze, gold, or platinum certificate.

Of course, the higher the ACT WorkKeys Assessments certificate that you want to get, the more difficult the test will become.

Specifically, each test contains five different levels, Level 3 to 7, with Level 3 being considered as the easiest because the questions can be answered based on information available at hand. Level 7, on the other hand, incorporates everything from the previous levels with some questions leaving out certain details that the test-taker has to infer or assume.

For math-related questions, this will usually come in the form of a question presented in graph form with numerous variables and also needing multiple or complex equations/formulas.

Why is the ACT WorkKeys Assessment regarded as a valid form of credentials?

There are many reasons why the ACT WorkKeys test certificate is accepted as a valid or required form of credentials.

One of them is because it is easy for employers to verify the applicant’s certificate since they only have to input the certificate ID in the ACT database.

However, the main reason why it is a valid credential is because passing the ACT WorkKeys assessments means that the candidate has sufficient or exemplary skills to function in a workplace environment due to its three main subjects, namely:

     Applied Math

     Graphic Literacy

     Workplace Documents

The first subject gives assurance to employers that the candidate can perform simple to complex calculations related to business while the other two allows them to be confident in their skills to understand graphical data, diagrams, bulletins, announcements, workplace and company rules and procedures, and even legal documents.

So, how should I prepare for the ACT WorkKeys Test?

For the level 3 assessments of each test, a rudimentary review of mathematical, graphical, and reading comprehension can suffice.

However, for the higher levels, especially level 7, it is not uncommon for candidates to employ an ACT WorkKeys Practice Test or practice course so that they know what to expect considering how difficult and confusing the questions can be.

So, if you want to have a shot at joining a company that requires the ACT WorkKeys test certificate, it would do well to prepare as much as you can, especially if you’re aiming for Platinum certification, which can improve your chances of being hired.
